What's the best way to play this puzzle?
Get the latest version of firefox. Click "intro". Read it. Click "play".
I don't understand! What is the "source" or the "page source"?
As you might imagine, this web page has been designed by a web-developer. Such pages are written in HTML, a language your browser understands so that it knows how to display it. If you right-click with your mouse on most webpages you can select "View Source" or "View Page Source" to open a new window containing the original HTML.
Why would I need or want to view the source?
To solve level one you'll have to. In fact, I'd think you'll need to for every level.
How do I view an image in Internet Explorer 8, etc?
In Firefox just right-click, but in IE you have to drag the image to the tab-bar. Go figure!
Where do I get the software needed to solve all of the riddles?
The requirements page has a few recommendations, but you can probably do what you need with other tools and if you have a preference use the ones you know best. For example, I prefer Gimp, but PhotoShop would be just as good for the image puzzles.
Surely such things are for geeky web programming types, why would I care?
You're right. See you on the hill.
